Within Bodegas Valdemar’s portfolio, the Reserva style aims to bridge youthful fruit and mature complexity. The winery’s long experience in Rioja allows it to select vineyards and barrels that emphasise elegance, balance and drinkability, while still offering the depth expected of a Reserva.
Vineyard
Grapes come from estate and contracted vineyards in Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta, regions prized for their combination of freshness and ripeness. Clay-limestone soils and varied altitudes give a broad palette of components for blending. Tempranillo dominates, with smaller proportions of other native grapes contributing fragrance, structure and colour.
Winery
Fermentation is carried out under temperature control to retain fruit purity. The wine spends a significant period in oak barrels—often American and French—for structure and complexity, followed by bottle ageing to further integrate fruit and oak. The aim is a Rioja Reserva with depth and character that remains versatile at the table.
