Producer
The Antinori family released their first wine under the Santa Cristina name in 1946. Since then Santa Cristina has been a byword for quality and value in Tuscany – now more so than ever since the creation of a dedicated winery in 2006. The range now consists of reds and rosés from Tuscany and whites from Umbria, so the winery’s location in Cortona, southern Tuscany, is ideal.
Vineyard
This wine is produced from grapes from the Orvieto Classico appellation, which encompasses the area around the alluvial cliff on which the city of Orvieto is located.
Winery
After destemming and a gentle pressing, the must was cooled to 10°C to aid natural clarification. It was then racked to temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks where fermentation took place at temperatures not exceeding 18°C. The wine remained in tank in the run-up to bottling.
