Producer
The Chatelain family have been growing vines on the slopes around Pouilly-sur-Loire since 1630, and were among the first producers in the area to export their wines. The thirty hectares of vines are spread over six of the seven communes in Pouilly-Fumé, and the vineyards are run by the twelfth generation of vignerons at Domaine Chatelain.
Vineyard
The north-west and west-facing vineyards mainly have siliceous clay soil with an abundance of sharp flints and a clayey sub-soil.
Winery
The must was vinified in stainless steel tanks at temperatures of 16-18°C. After racking, the must spent three months on its lees, with regular stirring.
