Producer
Château Montaiguillon is a family-run property of twenty-eight hectares, and has since 1949 been in the hands of the Amart family; third generation Chantal Amart is currently in charge.
Vineyard
The vineyard is a single plot that borders both Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. Soil is clay-limestone and the exposure is to the south, so the vines get more sun than many of the flatter surrounding vineyards. Vines are an average of forty years old.
Winery
Two automated sorting tables, introduced with the 2004 vintage, selected the best grapes before and after the destemmer. Fermentation was in temperature controlled stainless steel vats, and the various parcels were vinified separately. These were then aged in oak barriques for between eighteen and twenty-two months.
