Azahar, meaning citrus flower, is a label from Portugal’s historic Vinho Verde region created by former wine buyer Natalia Jessa. It is designed to represent the character of region within a modern, accessible style, as well as offering startling value for money.
Vineyard
This particular Vinho Verde comes from vineyards on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, planted to a density of 3,500 plants per hectare, trained to single cordon Royat as well as traditional pergolas. The grapes were harvested by hand during the second week of September.
Winery
After a gentle pressing the juice was fermented in concrete vats tanks and then aged on its lees before bottling.
