Description

Zamorano Black Garlic Cheese is 250g of Zamorano DOP sheep’s milk cheese with black garlic, a bold Castilian cheese with the sweet, caramelised depth of fermented black garlic throughout. Zamorano black garlic cheese is the most distinctive Spanish hard cheese. As a result, black garlic adds a sweet, molasses-like depth to the robust Churra sheep’s milk. Furthermore, this is an outstanding centrepiece for bold flavour lovers. In particular, black garlic has none of raw garlic’s sharpness — only caramelised complexity.

About Zamorano Black Garlic Cheese

We source Spanish artisan cheese from specialist producers across Castile, Asturias and Galicia. In particular, Spain’s DOP designations are among the strictest in Europe. As a result, a DOP cheese reflects genuine place and artisan craft. Furthermore, Manchego, Cabrales and San Simón each carry an irreplaceable character. However, style and texture vary considerably with age. In particular, semi-soft, semi-cured and cured stages offer very different eating experiences. Additionally, pairing with Spanish wines and charcuterie brings out the best in every cheese. That combination of protected origin and artisan craft defines every Spanish cheese we offer. That is why this product from The Artisan Food Company consistently impresses even the most discerning cheese lovers.

Why Choose Zamorano Black Garlic Cheese From Us

Using Manchego well rewards understanding how age shapes character. In contrast to fully cured Manchego, younger stages are creamier with a gentler flavour. As a result, semi-soft and semi-cured versions suit those who prefer a milder profile. Furthermore, all Manchego melts cleanly and suits warm preparations as well as the board. However, even the youngest Manchego retains the distinctive sheep’s milk nuttiness. In particular, the herringbone rind pressed by the traditional esparto grass mould is the mark of authentic DOP Manchego. Moreover, aged Manchego develops crystalline tyrosine spots and a deeper concentrated flavour. Additionally, the 250g portion is ideal for a cheese board for four to six. That DOP quality and traditional method define every Manchego in this range.

How to Serve Zamorano Black Garlic Cheese

To get the very best from it:

  • Serve at room temperature on a cheese board with membrillo — quince paste — alongside.
  • Slice thinly with Ibérico ham, Marcona almonds and good olives for a classic tapas plate.
  • Furthermore, grate over warm dishes — pasta, eggs or roasted vegetables — where the firm texture grates cleanly.
  • Additionally, pair with a glass of Rioja Reserva, Ribera del Duero or a good Tempranillo.

Perfect Pairings

This product pairs beautifully with:

  • Good sourdough or dark rye bread to complement the bold flavours.
  • A glass of Ribera del Duero Reserva, Toro or a Priorat alongside.
  • Honey or good chutney to balance the bold sheep’s milk and garlic.
  • Spanish charcuterie — chorizo, lomo or morcilla — alongside.

Storage: Keep refrigerated, wrapped in wax paper. Furthermore, hard cheese keeps for 3 to 4 weeks once cut if well wrapped. However, always serve at room temperature — remove from the fridge 30 minutes before. Delivered chilled and ready to serve.

However you serve it, Zamorano Black Garlic Cheese brings a character that only genuine artisan cheese can deliver. Moreover, great cheese always rewards good bread, the right wine and serving at room temperature.

Like cow’s milk cheeses, cheese made from sheep’s milk encompasses a wide and delicious range of both world-famous classics and lesser-known variations. All of them share a unifying flavor profile, with younger wheels maintaining a sweet nuttiness, and aged varieties developing savory notes.
