Producer
Based in spacious new premises on the outskirts of Chassagne, Philippe Colin is very much a chip off the old block – his father being the renowned Michel Colin-Deléger. He makes wines of energy and precision, never over-oaked, and with plenty of concentration behind them.
Vineyard
Philippe’s Chassagne village vines are an average of thirty years old and situated largely on the slopes of the commune. Philippe uses minimal pesticides, and harvests by hand.
Winery
After pneumatic pressing and natural settling, the must began its fermentation in stainless steel tanks before being transferred to barrels part way through, to finish alcoholic and undergo malolactic fermentation. It spent eleven months on lees in a mix of 228 and 500 litre French oak barrels, with twenty percent new wood.
