Producer

Italy’s north-eastern corner is home to its greatest concentration of fine white wines. It was in the region of Collio Goriziano that low-temperature winemaking techniques were introduced in the 1960s, and the fresh, delicately aromatic style of these often varietal wines became the new blueprint for the whole area. Marco Felluga is a leading exponent of modern Collio (as it is commonly known), offering unoaked varietal wines of intensity and purity.

Vineyard

Grapes come from Marco Felluga’s vineyards in the villages of Farra d’Isonzo and San Floriano, at altitudes of between eighty and 250 metres above sea level. The hilly terrain is composed of layers of sandstone and loam rock (limestone and clay) that once formed the ocean floor. Close proximity to both the sea and the Alps results in afternoon breezes across the vineyards, cooling the grapes after a warm and sunny day. All the fruit was hand-picked.

Winery

After destemming, the must and pulp underwent cold maceration on the skins, followed by a gentle pressing to separate the grapes from the skins. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged on the lees for several months before bottling.
