Producer
Plenio is one of Umani Ronchi’s flagship white wines and a definitive expression of the Verdicchio grape. For decades, the estate has been recognised as one of the leading producers of Verdicchio in Italy, continuously refining their vineyard practices and winemaking approach to highlight the grape’s ageing potential.
Vineyard
The grapes come from one of the highest vineyards in the Castelli di Jesi zone, located around 400 metres above sea level. The soils are predominantly clay and limestone, which contribute mineral tension and structural depth. The altitude ensures slow, even ripening, enhancing aromatic precision and acidity.
Winery
Grapes are hand-harvested, softly pressed and fermented in stainless steel. A portion of the wine matures on fine lees in large oak casks, adding complexity and texture. Plenio is aged extensively before release, resulting in a Verdicchio of remarkable structure, elegance and longevity.
