Torcicoda is one of Tormaresca’s flagship reds from the Masseria Maìme estate. It represents a more structured and ambitious expression of Primitivo, combining the warmth of Salento with refined winemaking inspired by Antinori’s long heritage.
Vineyard
Primitivo is grown on sandy, well-draining soils close to the Adriatic Sea. These soils encourage aromatic clarity while preventing excessive vigour. The warm southern sun ripens grapes fully, while maritime breezes add freshness. Low yields produce concentrated berries with intense colour and flavour.
Winery
After fermentation, the wine undergoes extended maceration to build texture. It is matured in French and Hungarian oak barrels, contributing spice, roundness and depth. Further bottle ageing ensures integration and smoothness, resulting in a Primitivo that is both powerful and elegant.
