Tormaresca’s Neprica range is designed to showcase the personality of native Puglian grapes. Primitivo, one of the region’s flagship varieties, thrives under Tormaresca’s careful vineyard management and modern winemaking techniques.
Vineyard
Primitivo comes from vineyards in both Salento and northern Puglia, planted on clay-limestone soils that enhance richness and aromatic depth. The warm southern sun encourages full ripening, while sea breezes from the Adriatic and Ionian coasts mitigate excessive heat. This balancing effect preserves freshness in the fruit and prevents overripeness.
Winery
Fermentation occurs in stainless steel, followed by short ageing in oak to soften tannins and add subtle spice. The goal is to retain Primitivo’s naturally plush texture and bold fruit while enhancing its structure with gentle oak influence.
