Producer
The Pratello estate occupies a favourable spot on a hillside overlooking Lake Garda. The owners, the Bertola family, have planted the most suitable sixty-six of the 140 hectares with vines; the rest of the land is given over to forest and cereal crops.
Vineyard
The vineyards have been cultivated organically since 2004, on mineralrich clay soils. The loose soil structure provides excellent drainage, while the lakeside exposition encourages airflow that helps keep the grapes healthy. 2016 saw a transition from certified organic viticulture to a proprietory charter of sustainable viticulture called Metodo Pratello.
Winery
Following a cold maceration, the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks over ten days. It was then racked and aged in tank for three months before bottling.
