Producer
Sardinia’s mixture of grapes matches its location: as well as sharing the Vermentino with Corsica, Provence and western Italy, it has also received considerable input from Spain, in the form of Cannonau (Grenache), Bovale (Graciano) and Carignano. Pala capture this diversity, offering wines of modern purity with genuine Sardinian style.
Vineyard
Grapes are sourced from two of Pala’s vineyards, Is Crabilis in Ussanaand Acquasassa in Serdiana, whose calcareous clay soils lie at 150-180 meters above sea level. The vines are low espalier trained and thirty-five years old on average.
Winery
The grapes were crushed and given 6-7 days’ cold maceration before temperature-controlled fermentation with selected yeasts. The wine was then aged in a mix of cement and stainless steel for six months
