Producer
Wagram may be one of Austria’s more obscure wine regions, but if Arnold Holzer’s talent is anything to go by, that may well change. We have developed this pair of wines in collaboration with the gifted young winemaker. Inspired by the gravity-defying antics of the Austrian mountain goats, the wines are light yet full of character. They also offer value for money completely beyond anything we have yet encountered in Austria.
Vineyard
Niederösterreich is Austria’s largest quality-wine-growing area. There are eight specific wine-growing regions in Niederösterreich, stretching from the Wachau in the west to Carnuntum in the east. The early ripening Müller-Thurgau was harvested by hand.
Winery
After crushing, the grapes were fermented on their skins for three weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Following fermentation the wine was pressed and kept reductively in stainless steel for a further seven months lees ageing. Finally, following a few days of controlled oxidation, the wine was bottled unfiltered
