The Sweet Treats Hamper holds 5 items drawn from France, Italy, Portugal and Switzerland: , packed in a small matte-black gift box.

Five things worth eating slowly

A bar of Bennetto 60% dark chocolate with salted caramel, Panducale hazelnut and cocoa cantuccini from Italy, Hedene chestnut honey, a Corsican fig jam made to PDO rules by Charles Antona, and a pack of Portuguese palmiers. Chocolate, biscuit, honey, jam and pastry – the whole shape of a sweet hamper in five items.

Who makes it

Most of what is in this hamper we import ourselves. Hedene press their honeys and make confitures sweetened with honey rather than sugar. Charles Antona has made Corsican jams and canistrelli to PDO rules for four generations. Conservas Virto bottle in Navarra, Novi and DiSanto bake in Italy, Bennetto make single-origin chocolate, and The Chocolate Detective hand-finish their speckled eggs. You can read how protected designations work at the European Commission.

Packing and delivery

We pack this hamper in a small matte-black gift box with a printed ivory-cream sleeve. Cheese and charcuterie travel chilled and keep well on arrival. We deliver across mainland UK and can send straight to the recipient with a handwritten card. See the rest of the range on our sweet hampers page.

Serving suggestion

Open the chocolate last, and take it out of the fridge well before you do – cold chocolate tastes of very little. Honey and confiture are better at room temperature too. If there is a dessert wine, pour it small and cold, and put the dark chocolate beside it rather than the milk. Biscuits keep best in their own packaging rather than a tin, and an opened jar of confiture will sit happily in the fridge for a month.
