Producer
Tenuta J. Hofstätter is one of Alto Adige’s most respected family estates, founded in 1907 in the village of Termeno (Tramin). The winery is known for its precision, its deep understanding of mountain viticulture and its commitment to expressing each vineyard’s unique microclimate. With over a century of experience, Hofstätter has become renowned for producing some of the region’s most distinctive white and red wines, including benchmark Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco and Gewürztraminer.
Vineyard
Pinot Grigio grapes come from high-altitude vineyards planted on steep slopes between 350 and 650 metres. These sites enjoy warm, sun-rich days and remarkably cool nights, preserving acidity and aromatic finesse. Soils vary from limestone-rich to volcanic in origin, giving depth, minerality and structure to the wines. The estate emphasises sustainability, biodiversity and precise canopy management to ensure slow ripening and concentrated flavours.
Winery
Grapes are gently pressed and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel to preserve aromatics and purity. A brief maturation on fine lees enhances texture without reducing freshness. Hofstätter’s approach ensures a wine that balances lively fruit with mountain elegance, resulting in a Pinot Grigio of notable refinement.
