Producer
Raventós de Alella is one of the key estates in the tiny Alella appellation, a historic wine area just outside Barcelona. The winery specialises in Pansa Blanca (the local name for Xarel·lo) and other Mediterranean varieties, crafting wines that showcase freshness, texture and a strong sense of coastal terroir.
Vineyard
Alella’s vineyards are planted on sauló, a decomposed granite soil that is sandy, well-drained and poor in organic matter. This soil type, combined with the mild maritime climate and constant sea breezes, produces grapes with high aromatic intensity and a distinctive mineral edge. Pansa Blanca performs particularly well here, translating the granitic soils and Mediterranean environment into complex, savoury whites.
Winery
Grapes are harvested early in the morning to maintain acidity and aromatics. Gentle pressing and cool fermentation in stainless steel preserve primary fruit and floral notes. In some cuvées, limited lees ageing may be used to add texture and depth, but the overarching goal is clarity and a clean, saline finish that reflects the proximity to the Mediterranean.
