Producer
Prunus is a pair of wines from Portugal’s historic Dão region created by former wine buyer Natalia Jessa. They are designed to represent the character of region within a modern, accessible style, as well as offering startling value for money.
Vineyard
The grapes come from 30- to 50-year-old vines planted on granite and clay at a density of 4000 to 6000 plants per hectare. Harvesting was carried out by hand.
Winery
After twenty-four hours’ cold maceration, the must was fermented in stainless steel over the course of twelve days. Following malolactic, it was transferred to French and Portuguese oak barriques for six months’ ageing.
