Producer
Pian delle Vigne is Antinori’s celebrated Brunello estate, located 6km southwest of Montalcino. Acquired in 1995, the estate takes its name from the historic railway station that stands on the property. Antinori’s approach at Pian delle Vigne emphasises elegance over power, crafting Brunello that expresses purity of Sangiovese and the unique warmth of the southern Montalcino slopes.
Vineyard
The estate spans over 180 hectares, 65 of which are planted with Sangiovese.
Vineyard
s sit between 130–200 metres above sea level on predominantly clay-limestone soils with good water retention. The warm microclimate ensures optimal ripening, while gentle breezes maintain freshness in the grapes. Vines are managed with low yields to enhance concentration and aromatic depth.
Winery
Vinification takes place in large stainless steel tanks with extended maceration to extract colour and structure while preserving finesse. Brunello is matured in large Slavonian oak casks — Antinori’s stylistic hallmark — to maintain purity and respect for terroir. Ageing lasts for more than two years, followed by long bottle refinement before release.
