Producer
The Carret family has tended the vineyards of this fifteen-hectare estate for more than four generations. The estate’s name, which translates to “three small valleys”, refers to the three small hills on which the vines are planted.
Vineyard
The Beaujolais-Villages appellation incorporates thirty-eight superior villages that surround the cru zone, where the best Beaujolais comes from. Unlike the ordinary clay of basic Beaujolais to the south, the soil here is sandy clay over granite – the magic combination that makes the Gamay grape come uniquely alive. Domaine des Trois Vallons’ vineyards are planted on granite and sandy soils and the vines are over fifty years old.
Winery
After eight-to-twelve days of semi-carbonic maceration, the grapes were pressed and underwent a temperature-controlled fermentation in tank.
