Producer
Château d’Aigueville is a 120 hectare estate located between the villages of Sérignan and Uchaux, close to Orange. This historic estate was purchased by the owners of the Burgundian winery Henri de Villamont in 2010, who have since set about modernising the property, building a contemporary winemaking facility. Winemaking falls under the remit of Pierre Jhean of Henri de illamont, ably assisted by the Coulon brothers of Domaine de Beaurenard.
Vineyard
The grapes for this wine are grown on siliceous-sandstone and clay-limestone soils with a preponderance of the galets, commonly found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vines are an average of thirty years old, although the oldest plots are over eighty.
Winery
Grapes underwent a period of cold soaking prior to the alcoholic fermentation, which took place in stainless steel. The wine was then aged for a further fifteen months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
