Producer
Bodegas Valdemar is a family company whose roots date back to 1889, and whose Riojas have long been a reference point for the DO. Despite this their approach is very much forward-looking; having pioneered many techniques in the region, from barrel fermentation and temperature control to saignée-method rosado, their style tends towards the modern.
Vineyard
Tempranillo grapes for this wine come from the Campillo vineyard; Graciano from Las Seis Alhajas and Maturana from Balcón de Pilatos, all of which are located in Oyón and Yécora, within Rioja Alavesa and all are planted on lime and clay soils.
Winery
The wine underwent temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, using wild yeast. The wine then underwent malolactic fermantation and thirteen months’ ageing in Alliers and American finely grained oak barrels.
