Producer
One of the best-loved and highest profile of Margaux’s crus bourgeois, Château Angludet was in a sorry state in 1961, when the Sichel family bought it and began extensive works to restore both château and vineyard to their original glory.
Vineyard
The thirty-two hectare vineyard averages twenty-five years old, and is well situated between classed growths Giscours and Brane-Cantenac. This second wine is the product of younger vines planted on newly developed rootstocks that suit the poor gravel/sand soil.
Winery
Fermentation was in temperature controlled vats with a 20-30 day maceration. The wine was aged in barrel for 6-12 months, with twenty percent new wood. It was racked every 3-4 months and given a light fining before bottling.
