Producer
Over the last forty years, Guy Allion has grown this traditional family estate from six hectares to twenty-seven; his son Cédric has worked alongside him since 1999. Careful viticulture is the obsession here, delivering not just expressive Sauvignon, but pure Pinot Noir and ripe Malbec too – no mean feat in Touraine!
Vineyard
The vineyard occupies slopes on the right bank of the River Cher, well exposed to the southwest and southeast. Soils vary between claylimestone and shallow flinty clay, with good drainage. Vineyard treatments are kept to a minimum, in line with the Terra Vitis code of practice.
Winery
The grapes were destemmed and then fermented in temperaturecontrolled tanks. The wine saw a few months in older oak barrels before bottling.
