Leonard Parli
Maison Léonard Parli was founded in 1874 by a Swiss confectioner Léonard Parli who discovered during a trip to Aix-en-Provence, a delicacy called calisson. He was seduced by this sweetness and decided to establish the first Calissons d'Aix factory. For nearly 150 years, the manufacturing secrets of the Parli house have been carefully kept. The two families who have owned Léonard Parli, since its creation in 1874, have passionately passed on the exclusivity of Parli know-how.
The large calissons factory, today the historic shop , is located in the heart of the city of Aix en Provence, a stone's throw from the Rotonde and the Cours Mirabeau, at 35 Avenue Victor Hugo. Its building with an original and attractive character, has on the pediment of its facade, carved in stone, an escutcheon bearing the Swiss cross framed by two oak and olive branches representing Switzerland and Provence. Known to Aixois and admired by tourists, Maison Léonard Parli, a real institution, is part of Aix's heritage.
