Producer
Mezzacorona is a driving force behind the quality of Trentino wines with a state-of-the-art winery handling estate-grown fruit from the company’s extensive vineyard holdings in the heart of the Dolomites. The fifteenthcentury Castel Firmian overlooks the Rotaliano plain in Trentino, and the wines named after it also give an overview of the region, with both international and local varieties on offer, all crisp and expressive.
Vineyard
Each variety used for Castel Firmian is planted on sites with a particular affinity to it – in this case hills surrounding the Piana Rotaliana – and a mixture of traditional pergola and modern espalier training systems are used.
Winery
The juice was given a brief period on skins before fermentation to take up the colour, and was then fermented at around 18ºC.
